TREE CLIMBING NORTHWEST
The Essence of the Tree Climbing Northwest Logo by Tim "Tengu" Kovar I received a vision of this image one night as I was in deep thought about having recently joined New Tribe. The living totem is like a vertical mandala. Here is a description of each of its parts. |

The Sun behind all is the light that gives life to our visions. The Tree at our back is the common thread that connects us to the people of our tribe.
Brother Raven is the messenger who finds interpreters in the worlds beyond. He sends our thoughts and prayers to the other worlds and returns with their wisdom to the summit of our totem.
The Sun Rays representing the wisdom found in the tribe of the One People. It is our connection to the other worlds. It is a bridge of light.
Many Tribes, One People. This symbol represents all the tribes of the Earth. The tribes come from different directions, but when we meet at the central place we realize that we are One People.
The Seven Arrows crown our head. These honor the Creator, the Four Directions, the Earth and the Creator again. We return to honor the Creator first and last, to complete the circle of prayer.
The Human Being. We do not sit above the earth, we sit around it. We protect and caretake our home while searching for our own Truth. Our self-discovery will benefit the One People.
Our Mother Earth. The earth is supported by the Tree of Life. This is where we receive the lessons of our tribe as well as lessons from the birds, the fishes, the waters, the plants, the rocks, the trees, the sun, the moon, the four winds, and the star nations. This is the place where we become who we are.
The Base. Our spiritual journey comes from the void, just like a tree growing out of the Earth. We have faith that we are anchored strong and secure in the “other” world. We enter this world through the Tree of Life, and through this Tree our world IS. |
