ABOUT THE TRAINING COURSES

Charley Bentley: It was great, learned all the basic ways to get in and around the tree. Can't improve on the BTCC!

Becky Bentley: Everything for the beginner climber was covered in 2 1/2 days -- awesome! I don't think you can improve on it (maybe cold beer after class!)

Alan Gartrell: Excellent overall. Tim does a great job with both didactic and applied technique. The info and course layout seemed complementary. Cannot think of a weak point.

Scott Davis: Excellent

Christina Claesson: A lot of information in short time. I have learned a lot and discovered possibilities within myself. I only hope I will remember everything when I continue to climb on my own.

Santiago Lechuga: Tree inspection, climbing safety, equipment, knots, environmental concerns, tree care and climbing with others all reviewed thoroughly.

Ashley Hovis: Great for beginners, I learned everything I needed to know before I went up into the tree, on the ground.

Jackie Gaudioso: The course does a good job of going over all the safety, techniques and tips a climber needs. The binder is helpful as well as the repetition in the lessons by the instructor in order to learn the routine and methods.

Huisheng Chen: Good and comprehensive.

Brian ‘Cato’ Cook: I felt it was very thorough for a 2 day course.

Jamie Granger: Very informative, hands on, and helpful for starting out.

Bonnie Zimmerman: The course was very comprehensive, and although there was a lot of content, it was well-presented. Tim made it easy to understand and the rules and procedures developed by TCI appear impeccable. The original plan for taking this course was for canopy research and eco-tourism, but I also am now interested in recreational tree climbing.

Paul Harcey: Very good content, lots of hands-on instruction and taught as much as possible outside on location or while in trees.

Nick Morris: Excellent!

William Bennett: What impressed me the most was the way Tim made covering the rather large amount of material manageable and calm throughout the week. I was also impressed with the respect and concern for the well being of the trees that was woven throughout all that we learned.

FURTHER COMMENTS/SUGGESTIONS

Christina Claesson: One learns not only from the teacher but from other students as well. Even though I appreciate the luxury of sharing my teacher with only one other student, I wouldn’t mind a bigger group. I don’t complain; I think Tim deserves a bigger audience than this.

Diane Floyd: I liked having the first day be a climb that was set up and just get into the tree without a huge amount of new info. Then the next days relying on myself and trusting my knots. That was big. I liked the change within me. (Tim always checked my knots before I moved.) My fear of heights really lessened. I became quite comfortable with my attention on what I was doing. A huge thanks.
